Vertigo and Dizziness

Learn about the various conditions related to the ear.

What is balance treatment?

Dizziness can be caused by several factors, such as:

  • Middle ear and throat infections.
  • Allergies.
  • Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV).
  • Inflammation of the vestibular nerve.
  • Virus that affects the inner ear.
  • Excess fluid in the inner ear.
  • Neck problems.
  • Enfermedades cerebrales.

The balance system in our body is so complex that it requires a strong communication between the ears, eyes, and sense of touch perceived by the feet. The central nervous system receives these three signals from different parts so that you don’t experience losses or gains in your physical state, such as dizziness, when there was no need for it!

Dizziness and balance problems can affect anyone, from an occasional dizziness to more chronic conditions like vertigo. Symptoms can vary in intensity or cause mild sensations of movement that worsen when combined with other factors, such as symptoms of an ear infection, for example; that is why it is important not only to identify the causes of the imbalance but also to treat them accordingly.

When you have the sensation that your feet are moving without you doing it, or when something around you seems to be spinning at speeds that are too fast for your comfort, it is an indication that there may be some type of imbalance. It can occur while standing and walking, among other things; both symptoms indicate the same thing: lack of stability in the lower region(s) of the body.
